Born in MO, raised in WDC, died in AR….looking for Donald Durley Dean relatives

Donald Durley Dean with two ladies

These photos were purchased on October 17, 2015 at Backyard Antiques flea market in Clinton, Arkansas.  Only one has a caption.  The second photo is captioned Donald Durley Dean, with a Washington DC address.  I think most genealogists would agree with me that it is priceless to have an unusual name, either given or surname.  Donald’s unusual middle name, Durley, made it easy to find him.

First a Google search located his obituary. He passed away July 8, 2012 at which time he was a resident of Southridge Village Nursing and Rehab in Heber Springs, Arkansas.  Donald was a retired music teacher and studied linguistics and ancient languages at University of Arkansas and University of Missouri.  He was born in Brookfield, Missouri and was raised in Washington DC.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran.  Donald moved to Heber Springs in 1994 with his wife, Diane Iva Dean, who survived him.  There is no mention of children.  A phone call to the number listed for his widow shows it to be no longer in service.

Donald was the son of Donald David Dean and Hazel Marie Morris Dean.

The search is on to figure out the identity of the ladies that flank Donald in the first picture.  Possibly his mom and a sister or two older sisters?
