Lovely photo taken in Tulsa looks to be 1920s.

Lela Forster

This photo was purchased at Nancy’s Antiques & Gifts in Mountain View, Arkansas on August 17, 2015.  I had previously purchased an old photo of Warren Forster at Main Street Flea Market and the clerk told me the photo came from Nancy’s shop.  I visited Nancy’s shop to see if she could remember where the photo came from and to see if she had others of this family.  Nancy loves old pictures and buys them from numerous estate sales and any place she finds them so she could not recall where that particular photo came from.  In a basket of photos in Nancy’s shop I found another photo of Warren Forster, same pose as the previous photo.  The box contained over 40 pictures and none of them were labeled.  The photographers were from a variety of places including Chicago and Iowa.  I noticed this picture because the photographer was from Tulsa, Oklahoma, the same location as the Warren Forster photo.  I took a picture of this photo with my phone and sent it by text to Dave Carney to find out if this picture might belong to the Forster family too.  Dave checked with his mother and she confirmed that this beautiful photo is of Lela Forster, sister to Warren Forster.  Lela was born about 1889 in Texas.  She is enumerated with her brother, Warren, and parents, Will(iam) and Lilly Forster, residing in Cloud Chief Township, Washita County, Oklahoma in the 1900 census.  The photo is happily returned to Forster family member, Dave Carney, in Arizona.
